Let’s face it. Even for professional content creators, churning out an endless stream of content can be a challenge. The key to strong, consistent content creation is knowing your target market and equipping yourself with ninja level research skills. Additionally, here are three tips that make creating marketing content – like blogs, ads, and web copy – less challenging.

  1. Create a system that works for you. My system means having a constant list of blog topics based off reader and client feedback and questions. Every quarter, I cherry pick from the list and choose enough topics to fill my blog for the entire upcoming quarter. I set aside one day to write and schedule each blog post. Then it’s done for the whole quarter and I have time to focus on other areas of my business. That’s what works for me. Find the system that works for you and stick with it.
  2. Develop a detailed picture of your ideal consumer – then write for them, not for you. Knowing your audience allows you to create compelling blog topics they’ll clamor to read. It makes it easy to focus on the right messages, write them in the right voice, set the right blogging tone and frequency, and establish a connection with them right from the start.
  3. Make sure your blog and other marketing content are easily readable. Avoid insider jargon, unnecessarily long words, and talking over reader’s heads. Use a spelling and grammar checker to catch any errors and check out next week’s blog for tips on improving readability. If your blog is cluttered with too many images, loads slowly, is too long or too short, your readers will find another one that’s written in more manageable chunks.

Follow these marketing content tips to ensure your voice is heard, your brand is well represented, and your blog is edited for spelling, grammar, and clarity. If it’s easy for your audience to follow along, you’ve already won half the blogging battle.
