Last week’s blog and video outlined how to set up a YouTube channel for your small business. Now, of course, you need to add videos to your newly established channel. If you don’t know which videos to start with, here are three must have marketing videos every small business owner should create. They’re quick and simple, give your viewers a good look at your business, and tell them why you have the solution they need.

  1. An Intro Video
This video does exactly what it says. It introduces you – and your products and services – to your target market. If you have the gift of gab and can clearly and succinctly explain your business, go for it! Shoot a video of yourself and use that. If you’re camera shy (like me – YIKES!) create a simple animated marketing video that serves the same purpose. Click here to see my marketing video (subscribe to my channel while you’re there, please), then use a video creation service to create something similar.
  2. A Teaser Video
Attention spans are short these days. Try creating a teaser video that quickly tells your target market what you offer. Try to keep it down to 15 seconds. That’s just long enough for viewers to get the gist of what you do and just long enough to pique their interest. Its intention is to tease the viewer into wanting to visit your website or other purchase portal. Click here to see my teaser video (subscribe to my channel while you’re there, please), then brainstorm a teaser video of your own. Hint: Use your elevator speech as a starting point.
  3. A Blog Post Turned Video
Do you have a blog that’s particularly popular or one you really like? Turning a blog into a video means you get double exposure for a single piece of content. Click here to see one of my informational marketing blogs. Then click here to see that same blog as a video. Pretty cool, right? It’s easier than you think to do the same for one of your blogs. It’s one of my favorite video marketing strategies – definitely one of the top three must have marketing videos.

Even though the videos you create are on your branded YouTube channel, make sure your logo is prominently featured on each. Did you know 25% of Google searches produce video results, so embedding a video on your website raises search results and increases brand awareness. Shameless plug: Outsourcing video creation to my company lets you concentrate on other areas of your business. These must have marketing videos can even increase the open rates of email campaigns. Nearly 80% of people watch videos daily – and your ideal consumer is among them.
